[SOLVED] Failure communicating with remote server (different than below)

Post by jimm »

Hello, we just moved our users to ZCS, we are using the most current beta of ZDesktop. I set up our user this morning and everything was fine until about 2 hours ago. When she tries to sync zDesktop, i get the error below.
Debug message: C:Documents and SettingsUSERNAMELocal SettingsApplication Dataimbraimbra Desktopstoreincoming1279649261414-959.msg does not exist.

A couple of things to note:
For some reason i am not able to view the GAL in either the web client, zDesktop, or outlook using Outlook connector. (From her account only) All i can see is her personal contacts. The addresses in the GAL do auto complete, and i can see them in outlook if i click the "to" button as i am composing (versus just "viewing contacts" in outlook.)
We use Trend WFBS 6.0, I am getting hammered every 5 to 25 minutes with the following notification from Trend
ComputerName: ACOMPUTER
Virus/Malware Name: JS_REDIRECTOR.CW
File Name: 1279649261414-959.msg (read this file.html)
Path: C:Documents and SettingsandreacLocal SettingsApplication Dataimbraimbra Desktopstoreincoming
Scan Type: Real-time Scan
Action Taken: Virus successfully detected, but infected file cannot be cleaned. File was deleted

Any ideas? So far this is only 1 user out of 50?? Thanks!

You need to stop Trend from scanning your Zimbra Desktop files (and removing them) and/or the running application.

I had read that somewhere on these forums people had done similar things. But what happens if said user does get a virus and it is stored in that folder? Trend wont be able to report it.
Is that why the sync is failing? because Trend is deleting the file?
Any idea why only one user out of 50?
Any idea why Trend thinks it's a virus?

Is it likely to be a virus if you're using a Zimbra server, it does have a/v software on it.

It's the most likely cause.

No.
jimm wrote:Any idea why Trend thinks it's a virus?
I've no idea why Trend thinks it's a virus and without the file it's impossible for you (or Trend) to identify the likely reason.

The Zimbra Collaboration Suite has anti-virus software running on it and while no A/V software is perfect it's not likely to be a virus if the user downloaded their email from your ZCS server (that is what you said you were running in your first post, or am I mis-understanding?).

Nope, no misunderstanding, i think you may have omitted a "'nt" or other negative in the sentence :) I just wanted to make sure I understood it correctly. Again thanks a bunch for the assistance (Now if i can only figure out how to stop Trend from scanning that folder
