Zimbra 8.6.0_GA_1153 cannot connect in POP3

Hi,
I have just installed Zimbra 8.6.0_GA_1153, when i try a POP3 connection on port 110 i get: "+OK POP3 ready", but when I try to enter a user i get: "-ERR invalid command", POP3 auth is in plain text.
Can you help me?

Hi maw,

You need to use POP3 in SSL per default in Zimbra Collaboration 8.6, when you select it the port will change to 995. Try it and let us know.

I have an old infrastructure (only suppport for plain text), that I'm not going to upgrade now, I need to access POP3 in plain text from my clients, as I did with my old SMTP, is this possible with ZCS 8.6 ? From global configuration I have already enabled POP3 auth in plain text.

Hi, I've the same problem

It's possible use POP3 in plain text from clients ???

The answer has already been given in the second post, you need to use SSL to connect to a ZCS server and anything else poses a security risk.

You should ask your Zimbra Administrator to enable plain text authentication on POP3 even if it is not a good solution for security reason.

Hi,

we have set up new zimbra server and migrated all only accounts to new zimbra server. I have written one script which is connecting to my zimbra mailbox by pop connection and read new mail. after migrated to new zimbra server i found one issue is that when I am sending email to my zimbra account from web client (IMAP ) I can see that mail is received to my account . but at the same time if I run the same script which is reading new emails by pop connection is failed as no new mail is received however if I reconnect to same mailbox i can see that mail is received. means for pop account I have to reconnect every time to get a new email. can you please help me with this issue
