Zimbra Desktop Mac won't launch

ZD won't launch anymore, app icon bounces and that's all.

MacOS High sierra, 10.13.6
Java updated
Yesterday did the mac update 2019-007

Any ideas what to try? I simply can't get used to the web zimbra, need my desktop back.

It seems the issue is caused by Security Update 2019-007. Update is from 12.2019, latest version of Java is from 10.2019, seems the latest security update is not compatible with latest version of Java.

Log shows: com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.zimbra.zdclient.28276[964]): Service exited with abnormal code: 255

Zimbra Desktop is deprecated; it relies on an older no-longer-supported version of Java.

The Desktop UI (and a good chunk of the code) is actually from Zimbra 7.

FWIW, our experience has been that HTML5 Offline in the overwhelming majority of use cases eliminates the need for an offline client.

Zimbra Desktop depends on the Java 6 runtime environment and that is not installed on El Capitan by default. To fix this, follow this link: https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572?locale=en_US, download and install the Java software. Zimbra Desktop will run after the additional Java version is installed.
