I was talking about the final build result - what's ending up in the actual binary packages (and so, on the target system).

And here we previously had all these files unpacked - so they could be customized easily - which isn't the case anymore.

To further illustrate, here is a snippet of similar output from a 9.0 dev build. Not pasting all of it here, but you get the idea.

$ zmcontrol -v

Release 9.0.0.BETA1.1161.UBUNTU14.64 UBUNTU14_64 NETWORK edition.

Well, tell much about the NE, as I dont have access to it's source code.

My reference is the main-foss branch.

Anyways, there seems to be quite some inconsistency between NE vs. OSE.

From the comments @bugzilla, it really looks like development is happening in the NE branches,

and some changes manually cherry-picked into OSE - that way it's easy to forget important things.

The optimal approach would be exactly the different direction: do everything (that's not _really_ NE)

in the OSE branch, and regularily _rebase_ the NE onto it.

Can you please point to the information which leads to believe that something has changed in this regard?
