Problem with account authentication

Hello - I had to reinstall Zimbra on my computer from scratch but when I
tried to add my old email accounts, in the setup section; new account;
unfort I just keep getting the error message 'User account authentication
failed. Please check username and passwor'., although the details are
correct. I have tried the advise regarding locked mailbox but this does
not fix the issue, has anyone experience or any advise regarding a similar
problem. Thanking you in advance of any advice.
