Hi all.
From what I've seen/read/tested the NG backup system (based on ZeXtras) is not compatible with previous NE backup system.
It happened before (backups were not compatible between major NE versions), we had to keep both backup sets until retention was over.
Is there a new suggested way to deal with it?
Upgrade path for backups
Re: Upgrade path for backups
I added this question to the zeta alliance [ https://zetalliance.org ] weekly conference call, Tuesday. I'll post the recordings shortly after the meeting is over.

Re: Upgrade path for backups
Hi Klug,
You are right, both systems are not compatible with each other, and as you mentioned, we will keep our legacy backup CLI tools working, so in case you need to restore from that Backup you will be able to, until as you mentioned the retention period is long enough.
With this, we want to give our Customers flexibility and chances in case they need to restore old Backups.
Adam it will be great if you can drop the notes after the call on this thread if possible, please.
Thank you!

Jorge,
Your post basically answered the question by stating - the older NE backup commands will still work, they aren't removed or their functionality disabled once you start using the new NG backup/restore module.
