Forum notifications?

Hi!
I've just checked the migrated forums and have a question about the notification feature. I'd like to receive an email whenever there's a new post in the "Announcements"-forum. When I'm at the forum, I can click the cog and select "Forum Notifications on". But this setting is nowhere to be found in my profile settings.
Is this the expected workflow and should this work? I'm just checking for security purposes. :)

Kind regards
Dennis

Yes, in fact you can just reply to the email too (or start a new thread via email) without even visiting this site. We have it disabled until ~Oct 3rd as the import would have caused a flood of notification emails to be sent out.

Ah, yes! THAT'S why I'm not receiving notifications. ;-) I've seen the post about that multiple times, but obviously didn't get it.

Hi!

I'm kind of "reopening" this. The notifications work now, but I get an email for each and every post in the forum (including replies). Is it possible to subscribe to only new threads on a forum? This was a feature I used in the old forums.

Thanks.

Kind regards

I don't know, if this post gets noticed after all that time, so I'll boldly mention [mention:8081d13fd51d42c888a04ad0bba5f6a6:e9ed411860ed4f2ba0265705b8793d05] and [mention:df14077b96e04b99b6173b0ac1285697:e9ed411860ed4f2ba0265705b8793d05] here. ;-)

Gotcha. I see what you mean. Signing up for the group notifications is an all-or-nothing setting. I tried to find a work around, but I couldn't find one immediately. This may need to be a [tag:featurerequest]. Let me try to research this a little more. In the meanwhile, I suggest turning notifications off on that group, though no one has made any new posts in there, outside of the one I just made to test. :) I'll circle back with you here when I have a more definitive answer.

Another thing, while we're at it: I get e-mail notifications for my own post on watched threads. This is also something, that's not quite good.
