Here we go again.......

With the recent sale of Telligent we seem to be left with this awful 'forum' software, I still find navigating through this poorly designed, slow and broken software to be too painful. Is there any hope that this might be a good time to reconsider using decent forum software to allow something useful to happen (in terms of moderating) on these forums and for people to get their questions asked and answered? If that's not the case are we still going to be subjected to this rather inflexible software for the future? What happened to all the extravagant promises of changes and improvements to the forums, have they melted into the distance with the separation  of Zimbra & Telligent?
I know this post is likely to get a 'non-answer' but it's really just to vent my own frustration with what's happened since the move to this software. [:)]
Regards

Bill

Good morning phoenix,

Yes, we are considering internally to use an Open Source Forums, like we had in the past. I'm working with some engineers around here to have it done as quick as we can, but without interrupt the service like the other times for 30 days. Our goal is have everything up and read in just one weekend.

I didn't hear nothing else about all the promises about the design issues, etc. And honestly, almost all the active users, plus all the old-school Zimbra Engineers like an Open source Forums more than the Telligent Forums.

The Telligent platform is so good and you can see amazing examples in the Office 365 Communites, or the Rackspace Communities, but not here with the Vanilla template.

So, yes, we are not thinking, we are actually planning move to an Open Source Forums again, without lose any single data.

I will let you know by email if you want more details, as this migration will not happen without talk with the Moderators first.

Best regards

Really, you haven't heard anything about the changes that were 'promised' (I use that term lightly)? Last September when the forums were merged and moved here there were long and sometimes agitated discussions on these forums and Rob Howard (who I assume has now gone with Telligent?) made comments that our concerns would be address in an upcoming version of Telligent - did I imagine those?

Yes, yes, sorry for my english, I know that, I mean, I didn't heard any news about that, all the promises, etc. So everything is the same as you can see. I also requested internally all your feedback, and design changes that needed to be addressed.
I saw the Alpha of Telligent 9.0, and maybe some of the issues we reported, they addressed there, I'm not sure.

So, like I told you, we will try to move to an Open Source solution when all the migration steps will be clear.

Hi ccelis5215,

We are still in the process of doing the migration tests from Telligent Communities into vBulletin. I will let you know when we have some good news to share.
