Open Source Downloads link?
Open Source Downloads link?
Why is it now necessary to complete a registration form for the OS version when a user hits "no" for the support question? We used to be able to go to a download link on that page, are we now going to have to complete a form every time we want to download the latest version of ZCS or has the direct download link just been missed?

Hi phoenix,
For now it will be needed to fill the form, we are working into a cookie to remember you, and offer you the download link next time, but in the meantime fill the form is needed in order to download Zimbra OSE.
Best regards

This is a step backwards and will put people off downloading ZCS, it's worked well for the last ten or so years so why the need for this change? The ridiculous thing about this is that I can go to the NE page and download that without any registration - that's a somewhat confusing message.

you're right Bill.
I think this kind of behaviour is not a good sign for the community.

It's a web form, which you can fill with aa@aaa.com, but I've sent the feedback internally, hopefully it will come in other way.
As long as the Community, the .org does still have the bits without any form or nothing, so Community oriented: I guess that for the last 10 years Zimbra haven't offered Premium add-ons for ZCS OSE, neither Support, so I guess we are still figuring how to let people now when they download ZCS OSe, that it's support and add-ons out there now.
Best regards

Sorry, but i have to disagree.
Zimbra actually doesn't offers Support.. for free or community oriented, so let's keep separated.

If one can fill the form with rubbish then what's the point in having it? If you want to inform people about further updates or information then offer them the choice as you used to - you'll most likely get more respondents with that attitude.jorgedlcruz wrote:It's a web form, which you can fill with aa@aaa.com, but I've sent the feedback internally, hopefully it will come in other way.
I'm guessing most people don't know the difference or even that it's available and again, this defeats the point of the form. Having two places where you can download ZCS and one of them requires registration and the other doesn't just makes ZImbra look badly organised, at the least.jorgedlcruz wrote:As long as the Community, the .org does still have the bits without any form or nothing, so Community oriented:
Then yet again, offer them the choice of further information on the new services and see how many takers you get but forcing a response makes people wary of filling in forms.jorgedlcruz wrote:I guess that for the last 10 years Zimbra haven't offered Premium add-ons for ZCS OSE, neither Support, so I guess we are still figuring how to let people now when they download ZCS OSe, that it's support and add-ons out there now.

Guys,
You are completely right, and I've sent the proposal to Management to remove the mandatory form and add other ways to promote OSE Support and ZSP.
I will keep you posted, my apologies for all of this
Best regards
