Has Zimbra Development Stopped?

I've been closely following the status of the new UI with great interest. Zimbra has aged badly and the new UI is very important. It didn't show up in 8.8, and now all forums related to it have been locked without updated. There is some mild talk of "something new coming", but that was months ago and all we've actually heard is that the Zimbra updates were canceled after showcasing them and making us think that we were getting them last year. That people were asking if the product was vapourware and then the threads were just locked with no info except hints at it truly being vapourware, this seriously calls the future of Zimbra into question.
Are we now just locking any discussion about the future of the product? Nine months since this blog post: https://blog.zimbra.com/2017/06/zimbra- ... ting-open/
And in the last nine months the ONLY news is "the future has been canceled." That's it? Nothing to share? No future of the product? Just bug fixes and things are winding down? This gives the very, VERY strong impression that Synacor doesn't see a future in the product - nothing worth developings and certainly not worth talking to customers about. As customers, the message is extremely strong: Zimbra isn't actively going to be developed.
If that's not the story you want us to hear, you should think about the message being sent. No news and locking people down who ask questions. As far as I'm concerned, being asked if a product is vapourware and locking the thread instead of responding is the strongest YES that a company can give.
