Verio Becomes Sole Provider of Hosted Zimbra on the Parallels Automation Platform

Post by 14118Tiffany Henry »

NEW ORLEANS, Feb. 25, 2014 -- Verio Inc., the leading provider of online business solutions to SMBs worldwide, today announced it is the first and only service provider offering Hosted Zimbra Collaboration via the Application Packaging Standard (APS) for use on the Parallels Automation platform. Verio has been offering Zimbra Collaboration, an open source messaging and collaboration solution that includes complete email, address book, calendar, file-sharing and tasks, through its own distribution network for some time, and is proud to be the first to bring it to the Parallels Automation catalogue of services.
"Messaging and collaboration offerings represent a great opportunity for service providers. These services drive revenues, enhance customer stickiness and have plenty of upside," said Philbert Shih, Managing Director of Structure Research, "Verio's hosted Zimbra gives service providers, on Parallels Automation, a turnkey, competitively priced messaging and collaboration solution they can offer their customers, without the overhead costs of hosting and managing it themselves." Having the ability to offer hosted Zimbra on the Parallels Automation cloud brokerage platform enables service providers using the platform to order, provision and invoice their customers easily from a single platform they are already using. With this new offering, Verio can now offer Parallels Automation users a broad and cost effective alternative to Microsoft Exchange for their customer's messaging and collaboration needs.
"Verio has a long history of providing hosted and cloud services through indirect distribution channels, so bringing our Hosted Zimbra offering to the Parallels Automation platform is a natural fit. Through our strong partnerships with both Zimbra and Parallels, we can offer service providers an excellent service at a great price in an easy to consume model," added Fred White, Vice President of Product Management, Marketing and Direct Sales at Verio.
"Verio has excelled for years as a top Zimbra Service Provider offering secure hosted email and collaboration services. Now we are excited that Verio has brought Zimbra to the Parallels Automation platform. We look forward to continuing our strategic work with Verio as they enable other service providers who are looking to provide secure, private collaboration services to their customers," said Steve Poncini, Senior VP of Worldwide Channels at Zimbra.
"We're very pleased to see the APS portfolio expand to include this syndicated premium messaging and collaboration solutions from Zimbra, hosted by Verio, one of our Platinum Partners," said John Zanni, Chief Marketing Officer, Parallels. "Having an APS package for Hosted Zimbra gives our partners more options and market access with an additional marquee product."
