hi all..
I accidentally wiped out my whole /var/log folder..
how can i get my zimbra.log file that sits in that folder ?
I have tried restarting the zimbra service but the zimbra.log isnt recreated
Deleted /var/log/zimbra.log file
Deleted /var/log/zimbra.log file
got a new zimbra.log file and all other services file.. sadly enough i lost all my old logs from that folder... lesson learn t thou.. PAY ATTENTION when using "rm -rf" command.

Deleted /var/log/zimbra.log file
Have you tried creating a blank zimbra.log file, making sure it is owned by the Zimbra user/group (chown zimbra:zimbra zimbra.log) and restarting Zimbra?
You may need to set the permissions (chmod 644 zimbra.log) on the file as well.

Thanks for your reply, I did all mentioned steps...
created blank zimbra.log file owned by zimbra with permission 644 and restarted the services but no improvement in writing log.
There seems issue with swatch.pid and logswatch.pid file with related process of zimbra.log and this thing happens on all time i create this blank file.
So to resolve this, after doing all these steps stopped the zimbra services and rebooted the server
Everything rebuilted and everything goes well.. No issues now.
