Forum Migration - communication, before the fact.

Post by phoenix »

Here is an example of another site I frequent that's just done an upgrade to their community answers - that was announced well in advance with a description of what was expected to happen and an update on what actually happened. Why wasn't this done for the Zimbra old forums instead of just taking them down without warning or any information about what was happening? At the very  least the forum migration appears to have been an off-the-cuff decision with very little planning or thought for what would happen to the forum members or how they would cope with having no support for over two weeks.

Bill

Although the intent was to have a smooth transition from the former product to Zimbra Community the migration was accelerated due to a security issue. You are correct for sure that this was not as smooth as it could have been due to the acceleration. We do appreciate your feedback and that you are here on the Community.
