Android App ?

Post by su_A_ve »

Anyone looking at making an Android App? Should be trivial as the iphone one (ie just a front end to the browser).
TIA...

Because Zimbra does more than Exchange

instant messaging

shared docs

view as html

Because Exchange support is not that good and worse for Zimbra

corporate address book search & autocomplete

shared calendar viewing

Because it is a solve once fix all over solution

one app, many happy Android users

Because Android is going to be huge in corporate

you want to gain from its momentum or lose?

you want Android to be the reason to use zimbra or to not use zimbra?

Comments welcome...

FWIW, I've been using K-9 as the primary email method to access zimbra. However, on occasions, I've used the mobile web interface and find it quite useful, specially for searching.

The app will allow for offline sync. In the first release of the Android version the Tasks will be the only section allowing for offline access. THe intent is for the first release to have same abilities as version 1.7 of the iPhone. THe following would be version 2.0 with more offline sections.

Has there been any progress towards the release of the Aderium Companion for Zimbra on the Android platform? I did not see anything on the website.

Android App ?

Post by 1248bernd »

we are planning to switch from scalix to a new groupware solution. we have 50 user and 10 mobile users with remote access to scalix. this is the main problem scalix is not working stable in any way with iphone, symbian and android phones.
now my questions since android is getting more and more popular in our company we will decide on the availability of a stable and full functional app for iphone, symbian and android phones, does zimbra offer this?
Thx for your feedback.
