Post by bucho »

Hello,
we are running zimbrar mail server with many mailboxes. One our employee has problem with writing a new email over web client. When he hits Enter to start a new line, Zimbra automatically insert an attachment (it is that email he is writing). Before hi finish his mail, it has many attached files.
PC Win 10 with Mozilla Firefox. Reinstall of Firefox did not help. No virus detected.

Thanks for help.

The same issue happen to us:
When a user from webmail (Firefox 54.0.1 and Windows7 or 10) answer or forward a message with some attachment, automatically appear original attached files (and duplicated) if you attach a new one from your hd.

Seems to be a bug.
There are many accounts in our system, but only detected in one.

In case anybody still looking for a solution, here is what worked for me..

Firstly, in our case, the issue was caused by the HTML code in the signatures.
Some of our users copied their signatures via copy-paste from Outlook, ultimately causing this extremely annoying behavior.
In some cases, we actually had a different images pop up in their signature. Didn't dive into that any further, but that issue seems to be gone since signatures have been reset.
Also, not sure if it makes a difference, but we actually uploaded the signature image into the briefcase and referenced it from there.
No more signature multiplications ever since!

Word of advice for testing; if any of you include previous messages when forwarding / replying and the "bad" signature is in any of those previous emails; naturally the issue will represent itself.

Also, a little unrelated; for most people it is rather obvious, but for those to whom it isn't: the use of the "/" in the naming convention of folders is a definite no!
You will notice, when importing via IMAP, most clients will drop the import procedure immediately, some half way through, which is even more annoying.
So remove all "/" characters before you start the import from each and every folder and sub-folder. Let's hope there are not hundreds of them.

I can confirm its the issue with signatures.Had trouble with this around New year 2018 when colleagues added decorations to their signatures ... Didnt have time to investigate what does what exactly.

I just ran into this issue on 8.8.9 when a user had an html image tag in her sig. This was nothing to do with Outlook, but removing the image cleared up the issue just the same.

Thanks for the useful thread!
