migration of e-mail accounts

Post by brandon »

I don't know if the topic was raised on the forum because I can't find, but I have a problem with migration of e-mail accounts from the old server version 8.6.0 to the new version 8.8.6 (new server)
On the old server does not work withimbra, but the server responds.
Which directory should you copy to a new server to copy all email accounts?

How about some details on what you're actually using to move the emails from one server to another and what the exact problem is that you're seeing as an error or why it's not working? If you're trying to move to a new server did you actually read the wiki article on the subject (it has been mentioned many times in these forums) or even try the ZeXtras migration tool (which has also been mentioned once or twice ;)).

Zextras is a paid application and I am looking for a free solution.
I wanted to transfer only e-mail addresses.
Believing that there will be more conclusions on this topic, I have moved my e-mails by hand. It took some time, but it was done
topic to be closure

It's available for free to move all your ZCS mail and server settings to a new server.

Hi leoyip,

This URL:
has been our (at Reliable Networks) usual method for "migrating" Zimbra services from one server to another (where the same version of Zimbra is configured on both the OLD and NEW servers).

I think what Brandon might be getting at (correct me if I'm wrong!) is how best to migrate Zimbra services from a server running 8.6.* to a server running 8.8.*. Our good friend Mark Stone wrote a blog post for us laying out a methodology using Zextras “NG” modules:
I'm currently in the process of crafting up a proper recipe in our labs (I've run into some questions of my own on how best to do this, I'll start another post related to that).
