Email notification for any email received in Junk folder

Post by alogicking »

Hi All,

Is there any setting in zimbra by enabling it a user get a notification email once any email gets delivered to Junk folder in Zimbra?

In my current email server we have spam report option which does the same with some other options.

Is there anyway to achieve fully or partially as per the screenshot attached.

The requirement of it is for all users having Outlook/Live mail as their POP3 email client and Junk folder is not getting synced to outlook Junk E-mail folder.

This notification is for the user to know that some email has gone to Junk folder and if the email is legitimate, then the user can mark it as not spam or whitelist.

Any help on this regard will be highly appreciated.

fisrt you should look in the mailbox log which mechanism is used to move the notification into the Junk folder.

Hi DualBoot,

can you tell me where can I check the mechanism used to move the notification into the Junk folder? and is there any mechanism available in zimbra which can be used to generate the spam report and can be sent to the email id specially to the POP3 user. I have searched a lot but couldn't find any solution for it.

Also is there any option in zimbra that I can forward junk mails of all users to a particular mail box and our Spam Administrator takes call on if it has to be delivered to the users or rejected/Deleted

Thanks & Regards

Hello,

you need to investigate into the mailbox.log with keyword "moving" and "junk"
For the spam report by user there is no embedded solution. To forward spam email into a dedicated mailbox
you will need to tune your amvisd behavior.

Hi Dualboot,

I see the log as below for Junk

Code: Select all

  2018-09-20 00:07:15,001 INFO [ImapSSLServer-4] [name=xxxxx@xxxx.com;mid=172;ip=172.31.45.1;oip=34.228.66.239;via=imaplib/1.0,172.31.45.1(nginx/1.7.1);ua=Zimbra/8.8.9_GA_3006;cid=149233;] imap - selected folder Junk
2018-09-20 00:14:20,577 INFO [ImapSSLServer-2] [name=abc@xxxx.com;ip=172.31.45.1;oip=111.93.145.74;via=172.31.45.1(nginx/1.7.1);ua=Zimbra/8.8.9_GA_3006;cid=149695;] imap - selected folder Junk E-mail

but I did not find anything with string "moving"

Can you guide little on moving all spam to a global spam folder spam@xxxx.com than to move it the junk folder in individual users which can be managed by our spam administrator as there is no option in zimbra to manage spam for POP3 account as I know if it gets delivered to junk folder.

Thanks Regards
