How can i protect public briefcase

Post by StasStryukov »

Good day. I have a question.
Zimbra drive have poor functions for sharing big files (extactly nothing functions).
Webdav didn't working with the last version of Zimbra.
Briefcase is a good solution, but it's bad that recipient can see all files in briefcase with using https://mx1.domain.com/home/vasya@domain.com/Briefcase/
I want to use the briefcase just for making a link for sending big attachments. But other files the recipient mustn't to have access.
What can I do for this?

No recipient can see the contents of a Briefcase unless the Briefcase is Public or unless the user authenticates. Open a different browser, make sure you aren't logged in to Zimbra and try your URL. You will get a "HTTP ERROR 401 Must authenticate" response.

Best is to create a new Briefcase just for the person with whom you want to share one or more large files, and give them permission to that Briefcase. If it's a file you will likely share with others, then just later share the Briefcase to those users.

Once you are done, revoke the sharing permissions and delete the Briefcase. Then your mailbox quota usage is not being increased by large files that no one will ever access again.

Hope that helps,
Mark
