ZD as solution to access & searching offline arcived archive account

i am going to download an install Zimbra Desktop to look and feel; my target is to find a desktop client for thumb users, and use it to access the "Archive & Discovery" account archived in some manner on offline media (DVD's).

My ultimate target is not (ugly) fall down to use outlook to do this.

Any suggestion by other ZD users will be very apreciated
