Zimlet oddity
Zimlet oddity
I've just noticed a strange behaviour with the Zimlets. If I login as a normal user only two zimlets are displayed (Amozon & Yahoo maps), if I login as the admin and then go to a user account and 'View Mail' then four zimlets show (Amazon, Wikipedia, Search & Yahoo Maps). Is this a bug, quirk or 'feature'? Running current Zimbra 3.0.1 on CentOS4.2 with FF 1.5.0.1 but it also happens from a WIN2K3 server with IE6 and I did the usual clear cache on both of them.
Zimlet oddity
Sounds like a bug, or possible a COS issue.

The COS I use is still the default. Where/how are zimlets set in the COS?

phoenix,
looks like you've found a strange glitch. I've got almost the same setup as you (OS and ZCS version) with no problems.

Obviously there are a different number of Zimlets listed for the phoenix COS, the phoenix COS was a copy of the default COS during the 3.0.0 install. Did the number of zimlets change between that and the upgrade to 3.0.1? Anyway, I was definitely using the default COS for the users on this server. I've deleted the phoenix COS rebooted the server and made sure that the users all have the default COS in their accounts and cleared the FF cache. Lo and behold, all the zimlets are now listed in the users screens. I guess we just put this down to an oddity?
Do you have to add zimlets to a COS if you create your own COS? What happens to a users COS if you delete one that's in use by a user, I guess they fall back to the default?

The answer to that, after a quick test, was yes they fall back to default.

Yes is you have custom COS's you'll need to add Zimlets on your own. If you delete a COS that is active it should fallback. In general it's better to only delete COS's that are not in use.
