Change the mail Quota in OSS version ?

Post by vpoorboy »

Sorry, I've searched the forum but can't find anything related.

How can I change the quota of an user ? I used Admin web console to change this, but it cannot be saved, then I used zmprov to change zimbraMailQuota from 0 to 100, then restart mailbox, but when I logged in Admin console and edited this user, the quota's still unlimited.
I tried create new user with new quota, edited COS, create new COS, but still no luck.

The log generated when I try to save COS or Account (modified Quota):

[http-7071-Processor48] [] ZimbraContext - requested session no longer exists: 4

Pls advise.

We cache LDAP look ups so ether need to wait or restart tomcat between changes to LDAP attributes.

Change the mail Quota in OSS version ?

Post by vpoorboy »

As I said before, I restarted Tomcat and then restart the Zimbra server, but it didn't change anything. I change the "zimbraMailQuota" of an account from 0 to 100. Is it enough? Or it requires more attributes to be set ?
Thanks.

Are you making this change on the Admin UI? or with zmprov? At the COS level or the user level?

First, I changed it in the Admin GUI, but I cannot save (??) both for user side and COS side, then I used zmprov to set it (yes, both for user side and COS side), restarted tomcat. But when I logged in admin GUI to edit the user (or edit the COS), the quota's still unlimited.

Quota of 100 bytes? Are you really trying to set it that small? Try a bigger number like 10000

This's also a question I want to ask. As you said, the unit of zimbraMailQuota here is byte...

Oh yes, the quota now is 100mb (104857600 bytes).

What is the minimum number that Zimbra accepts as a quota size?
Thanks.

It should take small quota's but you'd have to test to be sure. I'm don't think a quota less than 1meg makes much sense it today's email world.
