Re: Zimbra 10.1.12 Released - Please Post Your Patch/Upgrade Results Here

10.1.12 should be installed on all 10.1 proxy server versions identified by the Release Notes, period. Whether you have chat installed or not is irrelevant. An exploit of this defect does not depend on having a chat system installed. When Zimbra says a patch is an Emergency Patch and should be appli...

Re: How does zmprov rd OLDDOMAIN NEWDOMAIN affect GAL

Users’ internal address books will need updating, but… With galsync working well, users shoukd not have needed to add on-domain entries to their address books in the first instance, but… You can always add the old domain as a domain alias to the renamed domain, so any email sent to thenomd domain wi...

Re: How does zmprov rd OLDDOMAIN NEWDOMAIN affect GAL

The Galsync account(s) themseleves get renamed, as is every email-enabled object in the domain, and then at the next galsync account refresh, the galsync entries will be updated to reflect the changed domain name. You can force a galsync account refresh using zmgsautil. Wiki doc here: https://wiki.z...

Re: Question about update

Good mornings We migrate from Zimbra 9 to Zimbra 10.1 The server is managed by a local provider, so there's some information I don't have. What I'd like to know is whether a Zimbra update can be mandatory and automatic, and whether the resynchronization behavior I describe has been detected by othe...

Active Directory Domain Authentication With Windows Server 2025 - ZRFE-1978

Several of my professional services customers who have configured their corporate domains in Zimbra to do Active Directory authentication have observed AD authentication stops working when they have upgraded their domain controllers and their domain's functional level to Windows Server 2025. This is...

Autodiscover DNS Records How To

My experience has been that autodiscover records in public DNS not only make users happy by simplifying email account creation on devices, but also aid in Zimbra migrations, e.g. Exchange to Zimbra, or Zimbra side-by-side migrations, where users will need to reconfigure their mobile devices and IMAP...

Re: Domain name change

FWIW, I have found that zmprov rd <current name> <new name> has reliably renamed all email-related objects (user and resource accounts, aliases, DLs, etc.).

Always good to run zmprov fc -a all after making changes like that too.

Hope that helps,
Mark

Re: Do not ask for 2FA if connection comes from specific network

From a security standpoint, if 2FA is meant to confirm the user attempting to sign in is indeed the user whose credentials are being offered, does it matter where the login attempt is taking place? Unless all of the devices in a network require, like SmartCard access, 2FA is still a good idea. Even ...

Re: Backup error after migrating 8.15 from Ubuntu 16.04 to 20.04.

Based on:
Error: /opt/zimbra/.ssh/zimbra_identity (Permission denied)
java.io.FileNotFoundException: /opt/zimbra/.ssh/zimbra_identity (Permission denied)
You could try regenerating your SSH keys, as the zimbra user:

Code: Select all

zmsshkeygen
zmupdateauthkeys
Hope that helps,
Mark

Re: Zimbra 10.1.10 Released - Please Post Your Patch/Upgrade Results Here

The “Cannot send email” over ActiveSync is a known issue. I opened a Support Case and have sent Zimbra lots of logs and details. Since it is not reproducible on demand I suspect it’s a bit of a challenge to find the root cause. So... Aren't you finding this issue only when an email is forwarded? Fo...
