Zimbra Support Portal Misconfiguration - "Template: Notify: New Z assignment notification (to Z)" Emails Marked As Spam
Support Portal Emails using this template are currently being marked as spam, due to the template being configured to send email as if it came from the customer's domain. Unless the customer has Salesforce servers in their SPF record, these emails will be marked as spam (as the ones for the cases I'...

Java and Java GC Tuning
After several weeks of iterative testing, we've published a blog post with our recommendations for tuning Java and the Java Garbage Collector on large and/or busy ZImbra mailbox servers. The challenge we encountered is that ZImbra's Performance Tuning Guidelines for Large Deployments, even though it...

Re: Zimbra Multi Server not installing correctly
I am installing a server on the internal network and a second one on the DMZ. The installation process is as follow: 1. I install the ldap component on the internal server, no problems that I can see. 2. I install the mta, memcahed, proxy and snmp on the DMZ server, no problems that I can see. 3. I...

Re: Cannot Log In to Restores of Accounts With 2FA - Workaround Available
Regrettably, no. Nor does turning off 2FA entirely on the restored account work either.adrian.gibanel.btactic wrote: ↑Mon Feb 23, 2026 5:37 pm
Doesn't the usual trick of setting zimbraFeatureTwoFactorAuthRequired temporarily to false work in this case so that the final user can set its own 2FA again?
All the best,
Mark

Cannot Log In to Restores of Accounts With 2FA - Workaround Available
I had hoped this bug would have been fixed when the enhanced backup engine was released with 10.1.16, but regrettably not. Issue: When an account is restored to a new mailbox, and the account had 2FA configured at the time of the backup, it is impossible to log in to the restored account. Login atte...

Re: Zimbra 10.1.16 Released - Please Post Your Patch/Upgrade Results Here
We have two identical Proxy/MTA servers; identical except that one has LDS and ZURT installed and the other does not. The one with LDS and ZURT did not get fully updated. Running like dnf clean metadata && dnf check-update still showed no newer packages to install. I've opened a Support Cas...

Re: Zimbra 10.1.16 Released - Please Post Your Patch/Upgrade Results Here
Upgrade our multi-server hosting farm last night; mix of Rocky 8, 9 and Ubuntu 20 servers with no problem. Users report no issues (so far). Two things I noticed: First, we are seeing interesting cookie errors in ~/log/zmmailboxd.out: Feb 06, 2026 3:26:51 PM org.apache.http.client.protocol.ResponsePr...

Updated Anti-Spam Best Practices Blog Post
During 2025 we worked hard on improving our anti-spam best practices and today released an updated version of our blog post (originally written in 2019!) incorporating all of those improvements: https://www.missioncriticalemail.com/2019/03/21/zimbra-anti-spam-best-practices/ The biggest change is a ...

CBPolicyd Crashing Due To Attempted IPv6 Binding - ZBUG-3074
Historically, we've used Ubuntu for most ZImbra deployments, but to get a longer-lived operating system, we've been building new servers on Rocky Linux 9. We noticed on one of the new MTAs we built that CBPolicyd was not starting up correctly. To avoid having to have a separate set of firewall rules...
