Re: Error: 503. Service unavailable.
Despite not being configured to do anything with xmpp.ourdomain.com, prosody on the talk server seems to be trying to connect to it: syslog:Jun 17 09:10:47 z85test4 prosody[2769]: mod_s2s: Best record found, will connect to xmpp.ourdomain.com.:5269 syslog:Jun 17 09:10:47 z85test4 prosody[2769]: adns...

Re: Error: 503. Service unavailable.
After switching to the new installer, I was having inconsistent luck making a successful installation. We already had an xmpp.ourdomain.com, and the old installer would have that be one of the subdomains by default, so I thought I had to change the name. Re: Error: 503. Service unavailable.
Original poster here, and sorry for the late response. We actually weren't doing a multi-tenant install for this test server (though that will eventually be an issue). However, mentioning this kind of tipped me off to something that ended up solving the 503. My zimbra test servers were z85test1-3.ou...

Error: 503. Service unavailable.
I'm trying to test Zimbra Talk here. The Zimbra Talk tab does show up, but immediately after it loads I get an error: "Error: 503. Service unavailable." This error message appears to be coming from the Zimlet code, not directly from any request made by the web browser itself. There are no ...

DNS Requirements and SSL Wildcard Cert
The install guide seems to suggest a commercial wildcard cert. It stops short of outright saying this, but gives instructions for creating a CSR with cn=*.zimbra.io as the example. However, here are the list of subdomains that are required to be in the cert: • yourdomain.tld • xmpp.yourdomain.tld • ...

Why do distribution lists have a zimbraMailHost attribute?
Each distribution list has a zimbraMailHost attribute. Accounts and resources have these, as they store data on the mailbox servers. Distribution lists are, as far as I'm aware, completely implemented as ldap records with no data in mysql, lucene or the message store. However, if the zimbraMailHost ...
