That is really strange. Can you try reproducing in Firefox? Go to the Setup page, and clicking on "Open in Web Browser" link at the bottom. ZD will launch in your default browser. If its not Firefox, copy the URL and paste into Firefox.

Short answer is no. We mainly do this because rendering very large messages takes a long time on browsers. A large message is defined as being more than 100k and this value is hardcoded. Officially, anything lower than 800x600 is not supported. We avoid these kinds of issues with the online client by forcing the user to use the basic HTML version. Ok, I was able to repro this inhouse... this only seems to be a bug with traditional view (from the mail app toolbar, select View > By Message)
Conversation list view works just fine. Created a new bug:

Prism gets installed as part of the zdesktop installation. Please file bugs for any issues you run into specifically related to Prism and using Zimbra.
