Unless I'm not turning on SMTP auth on the server correctly. How do you do that?

When I do that, I have a never ending user/password auth loop.

From the web client, all is well. From Thunderbird or Outlook Express, receiving mail via pop3 or IMAP is fine. Also sending to local addresses (domains defined in Zimbra) is fine.
