SUSE 10.1 support
It's not likely to happen for the Network Edition. It will eventually happen for the OS version.
What makes you say that Bill? SUSE 10.1 is the same code as SLES10, and Kevin et al have already confirmed that there will be a SLES10 release. Developers for...

Upgrading 4.0.1 to 4.0.2
This is just a quick one, to see if the MySQL database requires a schema update the same as going from 3 to 4? I just upgraded yesterday, and saw that it went through a schema update which surprised me as I thought the schema was the same. Am I wrong in my assumption, and if not could someone tell m...

Finally "apt-get install zimbra" for Ubuntu Dapper released!!!
Bjoeboo, I think you'll find KevinH is very much still at Zimbra - he's one of the lead engineers (sorry if I'm under valuing you here Kevin ;) , and also one of the forum admins. It may have taken a while as Ubuntu isn't necesseraly the distro that most paying customers are using. I think you'll fi...

Backing Up Zimbra Open-Source (again:) )
Thanks to wannabetenor who advised me of rsync, and confirming what andreychek is saying, rsync works. As root run: rsync -av /opt/zimbra destination I backup to a local directory, and then shift the backup to removable media. My next step is to turn it into a cron job that runs at stupid o'clock to...

DNS Strategies and Best Practices, and a SLES10 Request
Zimbra expect to release a SLES10/SUSE10.1 version with the release of 4.0.2 As far as when in months/weeks this would be in the region of 6months I think - the Zimbra engineers would be best to speculate the time scale. One thing I would add to your config is an alias for root@server.fqdn as Zimbra...

NEW POLL: What OS port should be next?
Thanks marcmarc.
Shame it can't be sooner, although I'd rather wait and have it working 100%.

NEW POLL: What OS port should be next?
Just wondering if there is any timeline on the board for a SLES10/SUSE10.1 release? I'm currently running on SUSE10, but would prefer to run on newer and don't want to hack incase something untoward happens.

Zimbra not starting
I would like to thanks phoenix and especially wannabetnor for their astounding help in resolving my issues. In a nutshell my problkems were two fold: 1 - I had permission issues 2 - Amavisd would not start Permission issues were resolved quite simply by running zmfixperms, and then chown zimbra:zimb...

SUSE 10 vs SUSE ES 9
To get Zimbra to run on SLES10/SUSE10.1 requires some hacking of libraries - gmsmith has done it on SUSE10.1, SUSES ES9 is for SLES9 and SUSE9.1. They are very different to SLES10/SUSE10.1
I'm sure the Zimbra team will have a SLES10 release soon now that it is out in the wild (I hope).

Help!!
Actually, I think it's pretty recoverable. You may look a mailbox or 5, but I think it's possible. So, do you have a recent backup? If so, then try a reinstall.
wannabetenor Sorry for my ignorance but what do you mean exactly? I'm having simmilar issues - different reason (see here )....
