I got this message too, on Zimbra Desktop 2 RC1:
service.FAILURE: system failure: inserting new acct: db3ad363-4163-4fee-91c0-0f949a439c46
on adding a new gmail account.
Can it be because I already have an account registered with the same email address on a Zimbra server?

hmm, I reverted to the backup with the old server name and reconfigured network settings, all is running now, with the old server name.
Remains that renaming the server doesn't work, at least not at my site.

ZD2 Beta 2: search in All Mailboxes slow
Hi,
A little feedback on ZD2 Beta 2, which I really like.
I have set up four accounts in my Zimbra Desktop.
Searching mail in one account is fast.
Searching mail in the All Mailboxes account is slow, much slower than the search times for the separate accounts added up is.

I installed zdesktop_2_0_beta1_b10343_linux_i686.tgz on Ubuntu 9.10 with my own user.
When starting I get an a Prism window with nothing in it but the text:
