That's correct, this problem also exists in 6.0.4 - but I can't speak for any versions beyond that, and the latest is 6.0.5 - but I wouldn't put money on that version being fixed either, since there's no bug report that I've been able to find yet.

My first suggestion at this point would be to upgrade to 6.0.1 - don't know if this is related to your running a beta version, but it could be.

I don't think anyone has advice on how to fix the problem, save perhaps employees at Apple, Inc. If something in the OS isn't working properly, then blaming the OS is the only recourse. (FYI, the google results for 10.5 DNS issues are quite numerous)
