Also, Norton can interfere with secure sending of email as it doesn't like the fact that it can't scan it. There is a way to turn this off in Norton.

This doesn't work in the instance at issue, where the original domain (formed automatically during install as FQDN of server, e.g. foo.bar.com) has been renamed to domain portion only, e.g. bar.com.
