After recent apt-get upgrade on my Debian etch system - which installed a new kernel resulting in a warning to reboot so modules could be determined - my Zimbra Desktop at work fails to connect to the server. Also, Norton can interfere with secure sending of email as it doesn't like the fact that it can't scan it. There is a way to turn this off in Norton.

This doesn't work in the instance at issue, where the original domain (formed automatically during install as FQDN of server, e.g. foo.bar.com) has been renamed to domain portion only, e.g. bar.com. Under that circumstance, changing the 2 variables as suggested in docs does not appear to work, not s...
