Can you please advise on below Backup MX server I am planning

LMStone do you suggest using Zimbra for the secondary/ backup mx or a simple postfix server? Do you have any how-to/ recipe you can share for how to set up either option?
Thanks.

Per-user mail transport not working

Create the transport map Edit /opt/zimbra/postfix/conf/transport and place the following lines at the top: # Pipe transports for RT queues # YOU HAVE TO ADD THE PIPES TO /opt/zimbra/postfix/conf/master.cf if you want them to work!!! rt@exa...

Per-user mail transport not working

It completely eludes me that I can't get the per user transport to work and there are no errors indicating why mails aren't transported to the script.

Per-user mail transport not working

I've followed the wiki on how to configure postfix transports and pipe to scripts. It works great for a subdomain, but not when I specify a specific user email address. transport_maps = hash:/opt/zimbra/postfix/conf/transport,proxy:ldap:/opt/zimbra/conf/ldap-transport.cf sudo vi /opt/zimbra/postfix/...

Create an account for every number and set auto reply as phoenix pointed above.

Hi ccelis,
Yes, that approach would work but is unfortunately not practical as I cannot know in advance what numbers are used.

Outgoing email forwarding from internal to external domain

Hello How can I automatically forward outgoing emails to a different domain? As an example a user sends an email to support-ticket1234@helpdesk.example.com and I want the exact email forwarded outside example.com to support-ticket1234@serviceprovider.com. Note There are no accounts on the server und...

Auto-reply users that subdomain no longer used
That's amusing. Give us absolutely zero information about how your system is set up and then get snarky at people trying to help. How about getting off your high horse and explaining how your mail was handled when it was working, and how it's handled now. Are you even ...

Auto-reply users that subdomain no longer used
Read your original question, you say there's an email address at 123456@fax.example.com - are you now telling me that this isn't on your server? If that's the case you'd be better explaining what your configuration is rather than posting your comments in bold com...
Exactly the same as you'd set it on any account, go to the Account Preferences and set it there.
I'll repeat my question again there are no accounts under fax.example.com, so there are no Account Preferences for fax.example.com! So, your suggestion to set...
