if your zimbra server is having domain example.com then it will deliver it locally for domain example.com. you can tell zimbra to deliver mail for other domains to your second smtp server.

1.take backup of your data.

2.stop zimbra services

3.start zimbra upgrade using updated packages

4.start zimbra services

5.restore from your backup

download zimbra current version for rhel 6 & while installing use platform override option. rest of the things are same as on other version. you can download doc from Zimbra offers Open Source email server software and shared calendar for Linux and the Mac. site.

su - zimbra
ldapsearch -x -v -H ldap://zimbra-ldap.example.com -b 'ou=people,dc=domain,dc=com' -D 'uid=zimbra,cn=admins,cn=zimbra' -W
it will ask you password for ldap root dn.
