I tried to reinstall the mailbox server, but the logger won't install. when installing the appliance, there is the choice for single install (all on one server) or multiple install, where you can choose database, mailbox, mta or proxy. there is no explicit choice for installing the logger or not...

I created four virtual machines from the 8.0.1.ova, and installed Directory Server, Mailstore Server, MTA and Proxy each in one machine. Did you restart the machine after editing the config? I did the same thing today and external auth showed up only after a reboot.
