Re: Zimbra 8.6 restoring feature loss

Thanks for the replies all. I know I can run compose in a new window but that is such an anachronism to go back to what is essentially a pop-up window. Not being able to see the mini calendar or navigate folders just doesn't make much sense. The thread you linked to sounds like a usability hero that...

Re: Zimbra 8.6 restoring feature loss

First, kudos for the new forum. Much more useable and will hopefully bring back the community feel we lost during the Telligent acquisition. Second. Wow! Actual Zimbra Employee's responding. Impressive. I've been using ZImbra in production since version 3 and cannot recall ever seeing a Zimbra emplo...

Zimbra 8.6 restoring feature loss

All, I am presently testing Zimbra 8.6. We have held off on updating our 7.2.1 server as we did not like the direction Zimbra was heading with the acquisitions, mergers. I have been disappointed in my tests thus far (webmail AJAX) with a couple of problems that are sure to cause a raft of help desk ...

Rolling Upgrade testing from 7.2.7 to 8.6 ends in LDAP problems

Okay so I've gotten past the issue. Apparently some 'cruft' left over from the LDAPS excursion. Basically still had a reference to port 636 in localconfig.xml. Have it running now even though admin console says everything is down. LOL. Always something. **EDIT** Magically all the service...

You may also be doing a 32bit to 64bit change. Is that the case? Is any of this virtualized? Eventually I will be moving off of SLES 11(reluctantly) but for now I am doing 7.2.7 to 8.6 on SLES and hoping Zimbra will come to their senses about supporting SUSE. I have some ideas for switching platform...

Rolling Upgrade testing from 7.2.7 to 8.6 ends in LDAP problems

I am testing a rolling upgrade from 7.2.7 to 8.6. I say testing because I am using a copy of my VM to conduct these tests. The VM copy is not attached to the network in any fashion to avoid undesirable issues. To begin I executed install.sh but it blathered errors about LDAP. Oh joy. Stumbling throu...

Need Help with Zimbra 8 Spell Check!!!

This is a browser issue. It seems to come and go. When it happens try all of the major browsers. Presently one end user of mine can use only Firefox or the spell checker doesn't work.

Ubuntu Kernel Question

If I am not mistaken, 3.2 is greater than 3.11. You should be fine. If anything you'd have to downgrade.

Internet explorer 11 issues after upgrading to ZCS8.6

I had this happen back in the early days zcs 5 or so. I believe I hacked login.jsp in/opt/zimbra/jetty/webapps/zimbra/public to either not launch the mobile version at all or alter it so that it loads correctly. The problem is that IE has probably changed its browser identifier string to one that is...

Choosing hardware: small, weak & dedicated OR big, powerful but shared VM?

I have run it both ways. VM's have a lot of flexibility and can be ported around to new hardware should the old fail. The downside for me with virtualization is the whole 'putting all your eggs in one basket' scenario. If the box experiences issues, you don't just lose one server/ser...
