Split Dns setup

In your zone file the "NS" record should contain a FQDN (ie zimbrahost.axiomcomputerservices.com) instead of the IP address and your "MX" record needs a priority number (ie 10) in front of the server name. Those are the two issues that jump out at me based on the error messages y...

Internet Explorer Webmail client - mouse periodically freezes

A patch has been released that supposedly addresses this issue with IE. I've yet to apply it to my system, as we've since switched most of our users over to Firefox and haven't gotten any complaints, but it should do the trick for those stuck using IE.

Google Apps to Zimbra

Yeah, I can understand not wanting to get the user base involved. 250 could be considered pushing it for "relatively small" anyway. The REST method should work fine. We used it several years ago for our initial migration from Outlook to Zimbra. Not sure about the Google end of things. I wo...

Google Apps to Zimbra

You don't say how many users you are migrating, but if it is a relatively small number your best bet may be to export from Google and then use the import "wizard" in the ZCS web-client interface. I don't have any experience specifically with Google Apps, but we recently did a migra...

Cannot attach email when composing email in new windows

Just tested on my installation and it seems to work fine. What version of ZCS are you running? I wonder if it could be something else in addition to the "compose in new window" setting; maybe shared folders or something like that.

ZCS Network Edition update

Speaking as a FOSS user here, so take that for what it's worth. My first suggestion would be to read the Release Notes for 7.2. In general you can make several version jumps when you upgrade Zimbra, including full version jumps (ie 6.0.x to 7.x). Occasionally there are intermediate upgrades requ...

Activate spam detection for outbound emails

My initial thought is that installing ZCS for use as a smart host relay is really overkill. I guess in one respect it does provide a relatively easy way to install a bunch of the Open Source components that you could use for this purpose, like postfix, amavisd, clamav, etc., but it is really meant t...

zimbra impotar tool from PST

Log-in to the Zimbra Admin Console. In the upper right-hand corner there is a Downloads link. Click here and it will bring you to a page where one of the downloads is the PST Import Wizard. The download is a zip file. Open the zip and extract the "ZCS Import Wizard" program (.msi file). Ru...

GAL Syncing with Outlook in OSS edition

It's been a while since I've tried it, but I'm pretty sure you can setup an LDAP address book in Outlook and point it to Zimbra server. Search the Wiki and forums for more information.

Web client hang / freeze in compose window (new or reply).

Bug 73712 exists for the problem where the web client "freezes" when composing a message when using IE. Supposedly the issue is solved and there is a patch that is or will shortly be released, but I have yet to see any notification of this patch. The "work around" for this proble...
