ZIMBRA + HTC EVO 4G = FAIL = customers lost.
As mentioned many times, this is an issue with HTC and MS. Zimbra follows the ActiveSync specs. Turns out, HTC and MS don't. And yet, everyone complains to Zimbra that it's their issue and they need to fix it.Even though it's not a Zimbra issue, Zimbra devs have come up with a solution. ...

Email filtering dependent on the MTA
You can also configure postfix to deny incoming messages to that address. Thus, only internal SMTP connections will be able to send messages to that account.
Have a look into all the *_restrictions options that postfix supports.

A group in the addressbook would work better, as it doesn't require any admin access.
Alternatively, using auto-complete and just adding addresses to the TO:/CC: fields works well.

Zimbra Slow
This is definitely not normal. On that hardware, Zimbra should just scream. We run our Zimbra 5.0 install in a Linux-KVM virtual machine (along with 8 other VMs) on a lowly 4-core Opteron 2.0 GHz system with a 12-disk RAID6 array, with 2100 users (95% are web client users). Takes less than 5 minutes ...

Currently, only BES 4.x is supported for connecting to Zimbra NE.
There are several bugs in bugzilla you can track for the status of the BES 5.x and BESx support.

Zimbra can be configured in Outlook via http as does hotmail or gmail?
No.
If you are using the open-source version of Zimbra, then you have to configure Outlook to use IMAP to retrieve e-mail from the server.
If you are using the network edition of Zimbra, then you should install the Outlook Connector to have full, native, support for Zimbra inside Outlook.

imapsync both ways?
Nice script.
However, it won't do any good against a FirstClass server, as the IMAP implementation in FC is b0rked beyond repair (and they have no desire to fix it).

imapsync both ways?
You don't want to do a two-way sync. You want to do a one-way sync: from FirstClass into Zimbra. However, IMAP support in FC is horribly broken. If you have ever accessed the account using the FC Client, then IMAP will only work on the inbox. If you create a new account, copy all the mail folders ...
