That's because the latest patch (P3) is applied from repositories during the installation of 8.8.12. So at the end of installation you have 8.8.12_P3. 8.8.12_P2 does not have that bug...

The problem is there with all the current patches as of today (as indicated in the initial message - with the updated version of Patch3).

As the subject says after the upgrade 8.8.12_P2 to 8.8.12_P3 (the updated version of P3) trying to print any message with inline image results in disappearance of that image.
