Note, though, that the actual GAL in Zimbra is available via ActiveSync to iOS devices. Not sure if you can put addresses into the GAL beyond those associated with Zimbra accounts/resources/aliases/DLs.

No, currently Zimbra doesn't support Exchange accounts. Note: don't confuse "Exchange ActiveSync" as used by mobile devices with Exchange Web Services. See Bug 38631 - Enable snow leopard messaging features, Outlook for Mac 2011 for details.

Right, if you're using ZCO, the answer is to see the bug I linked. Vote for the bug; submit a support request as well. Disable X-Originating-IP if you can.
Also see comments 16, 17, and 22 in the bug. They might suggest a more elegant workaround, although I haven't tried anything along those lines.
