Multi-server installation

Post by elderf »

Best wishes to all ..
I'm getting involved in a project where it is needed the

implementation of networkedition for approximately 2 000 mailboxes ..

In five different locations in my country ...
Required by corporate security that each branch has its

zimbra server itself but these are sincronizen with

server at headquarters .. and the output of the mails to

Internet is made by the headquarters
Words, if the sucusal b send an email to the internet should zimbra

route to the branch (where the ISP) the output of the same ..

should not leave the mail to the Internet from any branch bo

another branch ..
It's good that the primary DNS on the corporate network is in the

Branch A ..
Anyone know how to configure zimbra for multiple replicas

locations?
thanks

Zimbra does not support replica's at this point. There are RFE's for it in bugzilla, I suggest searching and voting for that feature.

You'll need to stick with Server & Exchange if you want something that's reliable enough for a corporate environment for that many mailboxes.

Actually what you want is to replicate zimbra mailboxes and users in a similar way as does Lotus ..

Do you have a VPN between all of the offices? We're set up pretty much like this. Everyone is under the same domain name, and we have a zimbra-ldap replica in each office with a local mailbox server. The mta servers in the satellite offices are all configured to use the mta server in headquarters as their outbound relay. The mailbox, mta, and ldap servers all need to be able to see each other on a decent-sized set of ports... this is where the VPN comes in handy, since you don't want to be routing some of that traffic over the open internet.
