IRONMAIDEN 8.0.3 ported to FreeBSD

Post by Macer »

I'm trying to install this in a FreeNAS jail. Using the file located on: Zimbra on FreeBSD - Zimbra :: Wiki
The first problem I have is it not recognizing /etc/hosts. It keeps telling me that I do not have the proper format when I know for an absolute fact I do:
#/etc/hosts

192.168.1.194 hostname.domain.tld hostname
(actual hostname changed to protect the innocent)
The only way for me to get past this is to remove the exit call from the utilfunc.sh script and it is able to proceed.
The installation begins and then I get...
Installing packages
zimbra-core......zimbra-core-8.0.8_GA_6038.FreeBSD_amd64.tbz...done

zimbra-ldap......zimbra-ldap-8.0.8_GA_6038.FreeBSD_amd64.tbz...done

zimbra-logger......zimbra-logger-8.0.8_GA_6038.FreeBSD_amd64.tbz...done

zimbra-mta......zimbra-mta-8.0.8_GA_6038.FreeBSD_amd64.tbz...FAILED

###ERROR###
zimbra-mta-8.0.8_GA_6038.FreeBSD_amd64.tbz installation failed
Installation cancelled

Any ideas as to what the problem is here?

Another error is I canÂ’t access Zimbra Administration Console-Configure-Global Settings-MTA interface.
JavaScript error encountered in method ZaOverviewPanelController.prototype._overviewTreeL istener

As this menu contains important settings like Protocol Checks, DNS checks, List of RBLs etc.
For your own risk: replace folder

/opt/zimbra/jetty-distribution-7.6.12.v20130726/webapps/zimbraAdmin/js/zimbraAdmin

with fresh sources from git (see attachment)
P.S. It work only with https://hostname:7071/zimbraAdmin/?dev=1
Update: One of the zimbra packages breaks portupgrade/pkgdb. It goes in an endless loop:

# pkgdb -fF

---> Checking the package registry database

[Rebuilding the pkgdb in /var/db/pkg ... - 966 packages found (-0 +966) error] Remove and try again.

[Rebuilding the pkgdb in /var/db/pkg ... - 966 packages found (-0 +966) error] Remove and try again.

[Rebuilding the pkgdb in /var/db/pkg ... - 966 packages found (-0 +966) error] Remove and try again.

[Rebuilding the pkgdb in /var/db/pkg ... - 966 packages found (-0 +966) error] Remove and try again.

etc...
Running on 9.1-RELEASE-p1 with latest port tree. I removed all the packages because I needed to do an upgrade, not sure which one causes the problem. I'll update again if I have more time to play around with it.
Move zimbra* from /var/db/pkg to /tmp. Then:

/var/db/pkg # pkgdb -u

---> Updating the pkgdb

[Rebuilding the pkgdb in /var/db/pkg ... - 98 packages found (-0 +98) .................................................................................................. done]

Move zimbra-apache-8.0.8_GA_6038.FreeBSD_amd64 from /tmp to /var/db/pkg.

root@mail:/var/db/pkg # pkgdb -u

---> Updating the pkgdb

[Updating the pkgdb in /var/db/pkg ... - 99 packages found (-0 +1) .

zimbra-apache-8.0.8_GA_6038.FreeBSD_amd64: 8.0.8_GA_6038.FreeBSD_amd64: Not in due form: '[_][,]'.: skipping...

done]

So rename /var/db/pkg/zimbra-*-8.0.8_GA_6038.FreeBSD_amd64 to /var/db/pkg/zimbra-*-8.0.8.

pkgdb -u

---> Updating the pkgdb

[Updating the pkgdb in /var/db/pkg ... - 109 packages found (-0 +10) .......... done]

root@mail:/var/db/pkg # pkg_info |grep zimbra

IRONMAIDEN 8.0.3 ported to FreeBSD

Post by FreeBSD »
Hallo,
my name is Giovanni, I'm from Italy.
I've installed ZIMBRA IRONMAIDEN 8.0.8 on FreeBSD 9.0 Stable

All works fine except SASL authentication via email client (thunderbird).
When I try to send email SASL authentication doesn't work, in the log report I found:
Jul 27 09:19:04 zimbra saslauthd[90269]: zmauth: authenticating against elected url 'https://zimbra.electribe.eu:7071/servic ... dmin/soap/' ...

Jul 27 09:19:04 zimbra postfix/smtps/smtpd[91096]: warning: SASL authentication failure: size read failed

Jul 27 09:19:04 zimbra postfix/smtps/smtpd[91096]: warning: SASL authentication failure: Password verification failed

Jul 27 09:19:04 zimbra postfix/smtps/smtpd[91096]: warning: ip-87-238-25-75.static.adsl.cheapnet.it[87.238.25.75]: SASL PLAIN authentication failed: generic failure

Jul 27 09:19:04 zimbra saslauthd[90270]: zmauth: authenticating against elected url 'https://zimbra.electribe.eu:7071/servic ... dmin/soap/' ...

Jul 27 09:19:04 zimbra postfix/smtps/smtpd[91096]: warning: SASL authentication failure: size read failed

Jul 27 09:19:04 zimbra postfix/smtps/smtpd[91096]: warning: ip-87-238-25-75.static.adsl.cheapnet.it[87.238.25.75]: SASL LOGIN authentication failed: generic failure

The error is "size read failed" and this error driving me crazy :(

I dont know why this is happening? Except for these error, the system seems to run perfectly.

Can someone help me find a solution?
Thanks in advance

Giovanni
P.S. Sorry for my bad english :o
Fix:

echo LD_PRELOAD=/opt/zimbra/openssl-1.0.1g/lib/libcrypto.so.1.0.0 >> /opt/zimbra/.bashrc

echo export LD_PRELOAD >> /opt/zimbra/.bashrc

The problem: the status of services is not updated at WEB UI(cron job, default period */2)
Fix:

su - zimbra

crontab -e
At the beginning of the file, add the line

JYTHONPATH=/opt/zimbra/zimbramon/pylibs
then save and exit from crontab util.
Problem fixed. Have a nice day ;)

Hello, I have FreeBSD 9.3
FreeBSD zimbra.muschi.servernetz.biz 9.3-RELEASE-p12 FreeBSD 9.3-RELEASE-p12
I release 8.0.8_GA_6038.FreeBSD_amd64 FreeBSD_amd64 FOSS edition .

Installs and had a problem with SASL

Error: SASL authentication failure: size read failed
and error : SASL authentication failure: Password verification failed
and error : SASL authentication failure: can not connect to saslauthd server: Connection refused
and error: mail postfix/dkimmilter/smtpd[32532]: unable to dlopen /opt/zimbra/cyrus-sasl-2.1.26.2z/lib/sasl2/libgssapiv2.so.3: /opt/zimbra/heimdal-1.5.2/lib/libroken.so.19: Undefined symbol "unvis"
The problem I was able to fix though .. was not an easy away but I did it here is my solution ..

Installing Zimbra 8 on FreeBSD project.altservice.com/issues/377 Option 1

cd /tmp

fetch http://os-up.com/uploads/zimbra/libxml2-2.7.8.tar.bz2
fetch http://os-up.com/uploads/zimbra/cyrus-s ... 2z.tar.bz2
fetch http://os-up.com/uploads/zimbra/openssl-1.0.1i.tar.bz2

cd /opt/zimbra/
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/zimbra.sh stop
rm -rf openssl-1.0.1g
rm -rf cyrus-sasl-2.1.26.2z
rm openssl
rm cyrus-sasl

tar xzf /tmp/cyrus-sasl-2.1.26.2z.tar.bz2
tar xzf /tmp/libxml2-2.7.8.tar.bz2
tar xzf /tmp/openssl-1.0.1i.tar.bz2
ln -s /opt/zimbra/cyrus-sasl-2.1.26.2z cyrus-sasl
ln -s /opt/zimbra/libxml2-2.7.8 libxml2
ln -s /opt/zimbra/openssl-1.0.1i openssl

/usr/local/etc/rc.d/zimbra.sh

rm -rf  /tmp/openssl-1.0.1g.tgz /tmp/cyrus-sasl-2.1.26.2z.tar.bz2 /tmp/libxml2-2.7.8.tar.bz2 /tmp/openssl-1.0.1i.tar.bz2

a lot of fun , so you should with the MTA error no longer have !

just ask for a review ...
