Problem immediately after zimbra collaboration open source installation
Problem immediately after zimbra collaboration open source installation
Hi all, after you have installed and reinstalled at least 10 times, centos 6.2 operating system and open source collaboration zimbra 8.7.3, and having read and reread dozens of guides and tips, I need your help:
After each installation "clean", already now, can not log in then neither in the web admin, nor the web client for configuration, and as if the door 80, or 443 does not work.
everything has been installed on a vmware server 6.5 vSphere hypervisor and virtual machine dedicated to 4 CPU, 8 GB of RAM and 50gb storage.
As I said, at the end of each installation within a virtual machine windows 7 and I try to get through ie and chrome browser, it comes: Can not get to the site - ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT
Give me a hand please? I would be able to eliminate ALL the virtual machine and do it all over again; now I installed centos 6.2, configured static IP, and installed zimbra 8.7.3 with all packages.
Thanks in advance to everyone

Re: Problem immediately after zimbra collaboration open source installation
It really would be a good idea to install CentOS7 as that's the most recent release. There really is no magic to installing ZCS on CentOS. Let's start with the following questions: have you disabled SElinux & the firewall on CentOS; do you have valid A & MX DNS records configured (on your LAN?); have you a correct configuration for the /etc/hosts file?
Re: Problem immediately after zimbra collaboration open source installation
I disabled SELinux:
/ Usr / sbin / getenforce
disabled
I Tried firewalld I find none track
I have not configured the mx, since I want utlizzarlo only in my internal LAN network as study and learn (maybe I'm wrong in that)?

Re: Problem immediately after zimbra collaboration open source installation
Sorry, I don't understand that but I'll assume that it's disabled.vettalex wrote:I Tried firewalld I find none track
Yes you are, I'm afraid. This is all over the forums, you need valid A & MX DNS records so that ZCS can deliver it's mail to the server. Take a look at the wiki article on Split DNS, it's fairly trivial to configure and don't forget you need a valid /etc/hosts file.vettalex wrote:I have not configured the mx, since I want utlizzarlo only in my internal LAN network as study and learn (maybe I'm wrong in that)?
Re: Problem immediately after zimbra collaboration open source installation
so there Ê can use Zimbra Only for the internal network? Without Buying A Domain true?
Re: Problem immediately after zimbra collaboration open source installation
Yes, that's correct for both of those questions.vettalex wrote:so there Ê can use Zimbra Only for the internal network? Without Buying A Domain true?
Re: Problem immediately after zimbra collaboration open source installation
you can set up a real domain, after installation, maybe from the admin console web control panel?
Re: Problem immediately after zimbra collaboration open source installation
Yes but you will need to plan it because you'll need additional A & MX DNS records and again it's fairly trivial.vettalex wrote:you can set up a real domain, after installation, maybe from the admin console web control panel?
Re: Problem immediately after zimbra collaboration open source installation
I apologize if you are trivial.
I would change is the record in both mx dns, which file must be edited?
