Zimbra 8.8.15 Release Notes Now Available

Post by L. Mark Stone »

The 8.8.15 Release Notes are now available: https://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/Zimbra_Releases/8.8.15.

Presumably the Zimbra download web sites will be updated in the next day or so, after the repositories get populated.

Note that all other versions of Zimbra go End of General Support at the end of this September/early October, according to the Life Cycle Policy wiki. https://www.zimbra.com/support/support- ... lifecycle/

"End of General Support" means no more bug fixes nor security patches, so unless Zimbra extends the end of General Support dates for 8.7.11 and 8.8.12, you'll need to migrate to 8.8.15 in roughly the next 60 days to be on a release that is covered under General Support.

I summarized some things to think about when planning your upgrade to 8.8.15 in a blog post: http://www.missioncriticalemail.com/201 ... 5-upgrade/

My experience of late been that there are a number of Zimbra systems out there that were built by experienced Zimbra admins but which are now, given the fullness of time, being maintained by seasoned Linux system admins with only a medium understanding of Zimbra's nuances. The blog post essentially aggregates the conversations I have been repeatedly having with these kinds of customers and prospects.

Hope that helps,
Mark
