Test server installation

Hi,

This is probaly a stoopid question, but here goes anyway :

I'm looking of moving from hosted exchange to on premise Zimbra so need to set up a 'test' server for myself and my users to evauluate.

What is the best way to acheive this with regards to domains and MX records etc?

For example my company domain is abc.com and obviously all records point to the exchange server so do i have to use purchase a test domain, abc.net just to test it ?

Your advice and opinions are appreciated.
