Hi all,
We have an aging ZImbra server running ZCS v8.7.11 on bare metal. The plan is to upgrade to the latest ZCS 9.x on a VM.
Is there anyone out there who has a good experience moving from physical to virtual infra? Any gotchas to look out for.
~150 mailboxes
~800GB worth of mail.
Current Hardware build:
2x Intel Xeon E5-2620
64GB DDR4 ECC
120GB local disk
6x 2TB SSD for /opt
Thanks in advance.
Going from baremetal to VMware server
Re: Going from baremetal to VMware server
There should be no problem doing that. I'd suggest you use the ZEXTRAS products to move your ZCS bare metal install to your new, shing VM. Take a look at teh ZEXTRAS wiki for details on how to do a migration of your data to the new server.
