Hello greetings to all ...

Two weeks ago we executed a migration from gmail apps to zimbra of 200 mailboxes ...

The mailboxes in gmail had a maximum size of 30GB (only emails did not migrate shared documents) when passing them to zimbra in some cases they duplicated but never coincided the 30GB of gmail with the new mailbox in zimbra ..

We execute the migration with Imapsync ..

Does anyone know for what reason this happens?

It's related to the lable concept. Gmail does not works with folders and subfolder but with label.
When it comes to "translate" that in an IMAP tree structure, Gmail maps every label to a folder.
If you have a message that has two labels A and B, you will have two folders A and B each one with a copy of the message.
I had once a similar problem with a customer that used and abused the gmail labels: each message had from 3 to 12 labels. Results: a 1GB account became a 12 GB account on Zimbra (with all the right rage of the customer that expected and paid for a 1GB..).
Solution, if you use imapsync for migration, use --gmail1

As data gets migrated from one environment to another, the mailbox size may change considerably. MigrationWiz does not "inflate" migrated content. The change in size is due to differences between the Source and Destination environments.
