Quarantined email not saved to disk

Post by 6233maxxer »

Hi.

I just received a virus email, and it was mailed to the virus-quarantine account, but I cannot find the file in /opt/zimbra/data/amavisd/quarantine/.

Is this normal behavior? I find other files, but not this one.
And while for others notifications I get the file reference, for this one I got:
Content type: Virus

Internal reference code for the message is 30244-05/VZZZvl224pFB

[...]
The message has been quarantined as: virus-quarantine._upkctjcqj@DOMAIN.it
Got reply from support, the intended behavior is to store blocked messages into the relative account (that is spam or quarantine or virus). Saving to disk was a legacy behavior.
To recover one should open the admin console, view mail of the quarantine/spam account and pick it from there.

When using Zimbra 8 you'll probebly need to reset the password for the virus/spam acount. This has to be done from the CLI, 'cause in the accounts area of the admin console these accounts can't be found.
needed CLI commands (as zimbra user):

#zmprov -l gaa (to find the proper account-name)

#zmprov sp
