After upgrading my installation from FOSS 7.2.4 to 7.2.5 Zimbra does not start on system reboot. Prior to the upgrade it was working fine.
As zimbra user running:

zmcontrol start

starts Zimbra and everything works fine. I am able to start and stop zimbra with no issues after the server is booted. It just will no longer start automatically. The zimbra script is still present in /etc/init.d and looks fine.
The only thing I have been able to locate in the logs so far is this from /var/log/zimbra.log

Oct 26 13:46:05 zimbra zmmailboxdmgr[1656]: status requested

Oct 26 13:46:05 zimbra zmmailboxdmgr[1656]: file /opt/zimbra/log/zmmailboxd_manager.pid does not exist

Oct 26 13:46:05 zimbra zmmailboxdmgr[1656]: assuming no other instance is running

Oct 26 13:46:05 zimbra zmmailboxdmgr[1656]: file /opt/zimbra/log/zmmailboxd.pid does not exist

Oct 26 13:46:05 zimbra zmmailboxdmgr[1656]: assuming no other instance is running

Oct 26 13:46:05 zimbra zmmailboxdmgr[1656]: no manager process is running

I have duplicated this on both of my installations. Both were migrated previously from Ubuntu 8 (32bit) to new Ubuntu 10 (64bit) servers.

I decided to try and upgrade to 8.0.5 on my test environment. The upgrade appeared to go smoothly and now Zimbra is again starting correctly on this machine.
However, a likely unrelated SSL issue has come up. Seems my commercial cert was replaced with a self signed cert in the upgrade process.

I had the same problem after upgrading from 7.1.3 to 7.2.5 on Ubuntu 10.0.4.
This post 84975 fixed the problem.
