Hi,
I would like to Disable Amavis in my server and zimbra version is 8.0.3_GA_5664.RHEL6_64_20130305090204.
Currently I am using Amavis to bypass the virus checks and spam check, due to some reasons I want to disable to Amavis completly.
If I stop the Amavis service , my mail flow is not working until I start the service.
Kindly suggest me how to disable to Amavis service.

Try Following approach
[zimbra@amitmaheshwari.in] $ zmprov -gs `zmhostname` | grep -i zimbraServiceEnabled ## To check all Enabled Services

[zimbra@amitmaheshwari.in] $ zmamavisdctl stop ## To Stop Amavis Services

[zimbra@amitmaheshwari.in] $ zmprov ms `zmhostname` -zimbraServiceEnabled antispam ## To remove/Disable service from StartUP

[zimbra@amitmaheshwari.in] $ zmprov -gs `zmhostname` | grep -i zimbraServiceEnabled ## To check all Enabled Services

[zimbra@amitmaheshwari.in] $ zmcontrol restart ## To restart server

[zimbra@amitmaheshwari.in] $ zmcontrol status ## To Check server service status
Hope it gives you an idea. (Pls try this approach in test server)

Thank you for your reply.
I have tried as you said , but it is not working . When ever I stop the amavis it was effecting mail flow and getting disconnected from 127.0.0.1
More over antispam or antivirus are not showing in services enabled and I have start the amavis service manually when ever I restart the zimbra services.

If you want to disable amavis, you will lose many of the services from zimbra (spam checking, virus checking, disclaimers, etc). If you still want to do that, disabling amavis completely is supported in ZCS 8.0.8 and later.

Due to amavis I was getting the slow mail processing in zimbra, after struggling I found that postfix send the mails to amavis before sending the mails for delivery, so I removed/commented the line content_filter = smtp-amavis:[127.0.0.1]:10024 which is located in /opt/zimbra/postfix/conf/main.cf





Hope this works for you if you bypass the amavis.



and you don't require to shut the amavis service in zimbra.

Is there any way I can bypass
VIRUS ALERT

Our content checker found
virus: Doc.Macro.MaliciousHeuristic-6298845-0.

I have tried whitelisting the sender domain in salocal.conf.in, but still, the mail gets quarantined.

Is there any other way around for this?
