Adding new domain?

Post by physikal »

Hello.
Our company is going from an LLC to an Incorp. Currently our domain has llc.com in it and we're changing the domain to somethingelse.com. Can I just add a domain alias and then be done with it? Or how would I go about configuring this.
Alias?

Usage:

zmprov createAliasDomain {alias-domain-name} {local-domain-name|id} [attr1 value1 [attr2 value2...]]
Example:

zmprov createAliasDomain example.com domain.com

Or would I use the wizard in the admin console to add new domain. If I am supposed to add the new domain, would I use the same/current smtp server? mail.olddomainllc.net or make a new one?
We want all users to receive email at olddomainllc.net as well as olddomainind.com or whatever.
Thanks in advance.

You can rename the domain and create an alias with the old domain to the new one.
As for renaming the server, that's a bit more involved, but can be done. [url=ZmSetServerName - Zimbra :: Wiki[/url]
