Not receiving emails from some domains

Post by 1415bhwong »

Is there any reason why some domains has problems sending email to us but we have no problem sending email to them? These senders did not receive any bounce mail and we did not receive any emails from them. But they can receive emails from us.
On Protocol and DNS checks under MTA, which options should I untick which may cause such problems?

Do you have any domains blocked, and setup for no bounce backs?
Do you not receive the emails at all(check logs)? If they aren't showing up in any of your logs, it might be something at the senders end/out in the net.
See if they can even ping your mail server. Maybe there's some weird routing for your domain.
Hi Yopofun, we are able to receive emails but some domains just can't reach us.
You need to ask the person sending the email to you why it's being rejected (if it is) and look in your log files for errors.

FYI, we found out the reason. We were previously hosted on the same email server - SingTel.

When we migrate out, SingTel failed to remove our domain from their email server, thus any email to us from their existing customers will be treated as internal email.

We have got SingTel to remove our domain from their hosted domain.
